1. General Information
1.1. Calm Driving Academy Ltd (“the Academy”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides professional driving tuition in both manual and automatic vehicles.
1.2. All lessons are conducted by fully qualified, DVSA-approved driving instructors who work on a self-employed basis under the Calm Driving Academy Ltd brand.
1.3. By booking lessons with us, the pupil (“you”, “your”) agrees to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Driving Lessons
2.1. Lessons are available for manual and automatic vehicles.
2.2. Additional services such as mock tests and refresher lessons are also available.
2.3. All lessons must be booked in advance and confirmed by your instructor.
2.4. Learners must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and present it to the instructor at the start of their first lesson.
2.5. Learners may use their own car for lessons or tests, provided the vehicle is roadworthy, fully insured, taxed, and has a valid MOT (where applicable).
3. Payments and Cancellations
3.1. All lessons must be paid for in advance to secure the booking.
3.2. Cancellations or rescheduling must be made with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
3.3. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in the full lesson fee being charged.
3.4. Block bookings and prepaid lessons are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person at the instructor’s discretion.
3.5. The instructor reserves the right to cancel or postpone lessons due to weather conditions, vehicle issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
4. Responsibilities of the Learner
4.1. Learners must be fit to drive and not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that may impair driving ability.
4.2. Learners must bring their valid provisional driving licence to each lesson when requested.
4.3. Appropriate footwear and comfortable clothing should be worn during lessons.
4.4. Learners are expected to maintain respectful behaviour towards their instructor at all times.
5. Responsibilities of the Instructor
5.1. Each instructor is a self-employed professional operating under Calm Driving Academy Ltd.
5.2. Instructors are responsible for the standard and conduct of the lessons they provide.
5.3. All instructors must hold a valid DVSA-approved qualification and appropriate insurance.
5.4. Instructors will ensure that the training vehicle used is roadworthy, clean, and fully insured for driving tuition purposes.
6. Driving Tests
6.1. Use of the instructor’s car for a driving test must be agreed in advance.
6.2. The instructor reserves the right to refuse use of their vehicle for a driving test if the learner is deemed not ready or unsafe to drive independently.
7. Liability
7.1. Calm Driving Academy Ltd and its instructors are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury caused by the learner’s negligence or failure to comply with these terms.
7.2. The Academy accepts no liability for any claims arising from accidents or incidents that occur while the learner is driving their own vehicle.
8. Data Protection
8.1. Calm Driving Academy Ltd complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
8.2. Personal data collected for lesson bookings, payments, and communication will be handled securely and used only for business purposes.
9. Amendments
9.1. Calm Driving Academy Ltd reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
9.2. Any changes will be communicated to learners where appropriate and published on our official platforms.
10. GDPR & Data Protection Compliance
10.1. Calm Driving Academy Ltd complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
10.2. We collect and store personal information such as names, phone numbers, and email addresses solely for the purposes of managing lesson bookings, communication, and payments.
10.3. All personal data is stored securely on password-protected and encrypted devices to prevent unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
10.4. Personal information may be shared only with instructors who operate under Calm Driving Academy Ltd for the purpose of providing driving tuition.
10.5. We do not share personal data with any third parties for marketing or unrelated purposes.
